VIDEO REPORT: Madison Man $6,000 Behind on Child Support Arrested; Had $13,000 on Hand

Press Release from the Dane Co. Sheriff's Office:

Madison, WI. February 7, 2013 – A Madison man behind on his child support by about $6,000.00 was arrested last night, after Dane County Sheriff’s deputies learned he had recently won $10,000 in cash at DeJope Casino.

Emmanuel M. Haslett, age 28, was taken into custody during a traffic stop at Highway 30 and Fair Oaks Avenue in the town of Blooming Grove approximately 8:00 pm. At the time of his arrest, Haslett had over $13,000 in cash in his possession. He was booked into the Dane Count Jail on the warrant for non-support and also cited for Operating After Suspension and No Insurance.

There are currently 975 outstanding warrants for child support in Dane County, and one Sheriff’s deputy is assigned full-time to child support enforcement.

@disgusted at 230 pm on 2/7/2013. So, let me understand this then based on your way of thinking....the ONLY WAY a father is "true to his children" is by donating money to the "mother" to use on drugs, alcohol or her new fling???? That is LUDICROUS! What about the LOVE of a father???????????????

That's the problem with America. People aren't raising their children like they should, and they also aren't taking advantage of the educational system we're providing. No wonder so many are set up to fail, then they just blame the government.

If there are still 975 dead beat parents out there, I think we need more than one person on the case! How hard can it be to find these people? Just ask their ex - I bet they can tell you exactly where to find them!
