Madison Man Sentenced to 11 Years for Distributing Crack Cocaine

Madison, Wis. - John W. Vaudreuil, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Kordarow Moore, 23, Madison, Wis., was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Judge Barbara B. Crabb to 11 years in federal prison for distribution of crack cocaine. Moore pleaded guilty to this charge on February 1, 2013.

From April 2012 through June 2012, Damien Smith, Kordarow Moore, and Milton Moore sold heroin and crack cocaine to an undercover officer on multiple occasions. Specifically, on May 29, 2012, Kordarow Moore sold 35 grams of crack cocaine to an undercover officer.

At the time, Kordarow Moore was on federal supervised release for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Judge Crabb revoked Moore's supervised release and sentenced him to one year in prison consecutive to the 11-year sentence on the drug distribution charge.

On February 13, 2013, Judge Crabb sentenced Milton Moore to five years in prison for distribution of crack cocaine. Milton Moore is Kordarow Moore’s brother. Smith is scheduled for sentencing before Judge Crabb on May 13, 2013.

The charges against Kordarow Moore, Smith, and Milton Moore were the result of an investigation conducted by the Dane County Narcotics and Gang Task Force, Madison Police Department, Drug Enforcement Administration, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The prosecution of the case has been handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney David J. Reinhard.
