MADISON, Wis. --- Starbucks is a popular place for coffee and snacks. Madison police say Kirk Becker thought it would be a good place to get a free coffee from as well.
Becker is accused of stealing a tip jar after a store employee refused to give him that free coffee. This happened on 1 E. Main St.
The police report says Becker told the employee "There are homeless people out there. You should invite them in for a free coffee." The worker said that was against store policy.
That is when Becker is accused of taking the tip jar and leaving. As officers chased him Becker said "You can't catch me." Officers did catch him and they arrested him.
Becker is charged with Theft and Resisting/Obstructing.
