Incident Date: 02/15/2013 - 11:28 PM
Address: S. Ingersoll St. @ Williamson St.
Arrested: Dawn M. Derouin, age 35, Madison
Ms. Derouin was arrested for Hit & Run, Operating While Intoxicated - 2nd offense, Disorderly Conduct - 2 counts and Knowingly Operate While Revoked.
Victim: Male age 24, Madison
Details: Residents living near N. Fourth St. and E. Johnson St. called for police around 11:30 p.m. Friday night after an intoxicated woman started knocking on doors. When officers found her, she was back in her damaged car. She said she had run out of gas. The contact came as another officer investigated a hit-and-run crash.
It happened in the 300 block of S. Ingersoll St. A 24-year old Madison man says he was driving on Williamson St. and was about to turn onto to S. Ingersoll when he was rear-ended by another car. He was trying to pull over to talk with the driver, when she drove around him, striking his car again. She then sped off. The victim provided the license plate of the suspect vehicle. It turned out to be on the car of the woman who claimed to have run out of gas.
She was mouthy and combative, mule kicking one arresting officer in the left thigh area, close to the groin, as he and others struggled to her in a squad car. The suspect was arrested on tentative charges listed above.
