Madison man arrested after allegedly punching woman

Madison Police arrested a man early Friday morning on a number of charges after he allegedly punched a female acquaintance.

Madison Police arrested a man early Friday morning on a number of charges after he allegedly punched a female acquaintance.

Officers say 30-year-old Brent Benton allegedly punched the woman multiple times while they were traveling in her SUV.

After the assault, Benton allegedly slashed two of the victim's tires.

Later, he allegedly broke into her N. Thompson Dr. apartment and began yelling while waving a handgun around.

Benton was later found in another north side home and was taken into custody without incident.
