A Madison woman suffered road rash after falling from a moving car.

She tells police she was trying to stop a man who stole money from her purse.

The incident happened Sunday night around 8:22 on Dexter St.

The woman says the driver of the car was a man who had done handiwork around her building in the past.

When she saw him in the area, she asked him to look at her garbage disposal.

While in her home, she says the man stole the money.

She followed him and tried to stop him from driving away. She grabbed onto the open driver's side window.

She fell off before the car left onto Dexter St.

The woman hit her head and believes she momentarily lost consciousness. Police say she did not suffer serious injury.
