Press Release from the Dane Co. Sheriff's Office:
Madison, WI. September 1, 2012 – At 5:30 p.m. Dane County Sheriff Deputies and Sun Prairie EMS responded S. Thompson Rd. at Brooks Dr. in the Town of Burke for a motor scooter crash.
A 20 year old man was traveling on S. Thompson Dr. and hit some loose gravel on the edge of the roadway, causing him to lose control of his motor scooter. The man was not wearing a helmet and hit his head on the pavement, suffering a significant head injury as a result.
The man was later pronounced deceased at UW Hospital.
The identity of the deceased is not being released pending notification of family members.
