UPDATE: Two Injured in Separate Motorcycle Crashes

Release from Dane County Sheriff's Office:

Dane County Deputies and Sun Prairie EMS crews were responded to two separate crashes involving motorcycles in the Township of Bristol this evening. The first crash occurred around 4:03PM and involved a man traveling southbound in Cty Hwy N, who lost control of his vehicle as he was slowing to make a turn onto Muller Rd. The operator, Daniel G. McIntosh, 56, of Sun Prairie was transported to UW ER for injuries sustained in the crash, and was also arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated-1st Offense and cited for Failure to Maintain Control.

The second crash occurred a short while later, as Casey J. Ehlers, 25, also of Sun Prairie, was operating a miniature motorcycle in front of his residence. Ehlers drove up from the ditch and onto the paved surface of Vinburn Rd, where he subsequently lost control of his vehicle and slid across the roadway. Ehlers was transported to UW ER by Med-Flight for injuries sustained to his head and arms. Ehlers was arrested for 3rd Offense Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated and cited for Failure to Maintain Control as well.

Neither operator was wearing a helmet. The crashes remain under investigation by the Sheriff's Office.

Information from Dane County Sheriff's Office:

A man is in the hospital after crashing his homemade mini-bike in the Town of Bristol.

At 5:13p.m. Saturday, officers responded to Elder Ln. and Vinburn Rd. for a crash.

Casey Ehlers lost control of his bike and received facial lacerations and a possible broken arm. He remains in the hospital.

He was cited for operating while intoxicated.
