Man arrested after alleged 5th OWI offense

At approximately 4:20 p.m on Monday a motorist called the Dane County Communication Center and reported seeing a vehicle crossing the center line into oncoming traffic while traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 51 in the area of Schneider Road in the Town of Dunn. The caller gave a vehicle description and pointed out which direction the vehicle went. A Dane County Sheriff’s Office Deputy checked the area and located the suspect vehicle in the ditch on Norman Drive near Pike Lane. Contact was made with the driver, who was still with the vehicle.

The driver, identified as Marshall Martinez, age 36, of the Town of Dunn, had a strong odor of intoxicants on his breath and open intoxicants in his vehicle. Two children, ages 11 and 5, were passengers in the vehicle.

Field sobriety tests were given and Martinez was arrested for OWI-5th Offense. He is currently being held in the Dane County Jail.
