Man dies after explosion and cabin fire in Spring Green

Sauk Co. deputies say an 82-year-old Pewaukee man has died after an explosion and cabin fire in Spring Green.

It happened on June 6th at a cabin on County Highway JJ.

Investigators say the cabin owner, Clarion Goytowski, was pumping a lantern. He dropped it, which caused an explosion.

Goytowski was severely burned, but managed to walk over to his neighbor's to call for help.

His neighbor took him to the Richland Center Hospital. Goytowski was later transferred to UW Hospital in Madison. He died on June 7th from his injuries.

The cabin was a total loss.
