Information from the Sun Prairie Police Department:

On Saturday July 14, 2012 at 11:22 PM, the Sun Prairie Police Department was dispatched to 110 Market Street (Market Street Diner) in the City of Sun Prairie for a report of an Armed Robbery.

An unidentified male entered the business and pointed a handgun at an employee demanding money.

The employee was struck in the head with the base of the handgun causing minor injuries.

Police units responded and it was believed the suspect may possibly be inside the business.

A reverse 911 phone call was placed to immediate area residents with this information as a precaution.

The Sun Prairie Police Department, the Dane County Sheriff's Department, and the Wisconsin State Patrol coordinated efforts at the scene and determined that the suspect had fled prior to police arrival.

It does not appear that the suspect left with cash from the business.

The employee was treated for minor injuries and released.

The suspect is described as follows:
Black male
Skinny to medium build
Medium complexion
Approximately 5’10” in height
Dark colored T-shirt
Displayed a black semi-auto handgun
