From the Dane County Sheriff's Department:

On Saturday at approximately 9:45 p.m., Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with Mazomanie EMS, Black Earth Fire, and UW-Med Flight, responded to USH 78 at CTH Y, in the Township of Mazomanie for a single vehicle rollover crash.

A preliminary investigation determined that a 51 year-old male, from Mazomanie, was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix traveling southbound on USH 78 when he crossed the center line and over-corrected resulting in the vehicle rolling several times. The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected. The driver was transported to UW-Hospital by Med-Flight with critical, life-threatening injuries. Alcohol appears to be a contributing factor.

This crash remains under investigation by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.

My condolences to his family and friends. Alcoholism is a tough battle and I bet he didn't think it could happen to him. It sounds like this is a blessing in disguise at least he didn't kill someone else.
