A high school football game went on lock down after shots were fired nearby.
Football players and fans were sent to the gym for their safety. The game was suspended for several hours. Medford Police say a man had opened fired around 3:00p.m. just down the street from Medford Area Senior High School.
The suspect took off in a vehicle, and was shortly found after 6:00p.m. near the Chippewa and Taylor County lines.
The game was stopped as a precaution and for everyone's safety. No on was injured in the shooting.
A 19-year-old suspect is in custody at the Taylor County jail. They believe the suspect acted alone in this situation.
