The Dane Co. Medical Examiner has identified the man that died in Wednesday's apartment fire in Madison as 51-year-old Christopher Williams.
The fire happened at the Riverwood Apartments on Bridge Road.
A forensic autopsy showed that Williams died from thermal injuries and smoke inhalation.

The apartment manager of the Riverwood Apartments, tells NBC15 that the man who died in his apartment, was in his 40's.

The Medical Examiner has confirmed that one person is dead after an apartment fire on Bridge Road in Madison.
It happened at the Riverwood Apartments. The fire was contained a few minutes after 4:00 p.m.
The apartment manager says the person who died was a long-time resident of the apartment. The manager says the victim's apartment suffered the most damage.

The Medical Examiner has responded to an apartment fire in Madison.
The fire happened at the Riverwood Apartment building at 6425 Bridge Road.
Officials say the fire was largely contained to a single corner unit on the second floor. It was contained a few minutes after 4:00 p.m.
NBC15 has a crew on the scene, who reports that the Dane County Medical Examiner is there.
