MEQUON, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities say it was a bee or wasp sting that killed a man in Ozaukee County.
Relatives say 46-year-old Vladimir Novak was sitting outside at his home in Mequon Monday when he was stung and went into shock. A neighbor, who is a doctor, rushed over and tried unsuccessfully to save Novak. He was pronounced dead at Columbia-St. Mary's Ozaukee.
County Coroner John Holicek tells the Journal Sentinel (http://tinyurl.com/cbzpdqg ) Novak's death is the result of anaphylactic shock. Holicek says it's only the second fatal insect bite in the county in his 23 years in office. In the other case, a child died after being stung by a number of bees.
