Middleton Police say a burglary suspect was arrested Saturday after crashing into two vehicles.
A woman called 911 that night and said someone was taking items from her Century Ave. residence without her permission. Police arrived and found out that the woman's ex-boyfriend had entered her apartment and allegedly stole several items.
The suspect allegedly took $2,800 worth of property. Witnesses say he fled after hitting a parked car.
Minutes later, authorities received word of a separate two-vehicle crash on Century Ave. and Park St. One of the drivers fled on foot.
Officers found the driver that fled from the scene. He was hiding in a window well in the 6900 block of Prairie Drive. Police say it was the same suspect that fled the burglary scene.
Police say the suspect picked up a 2-3 foot long stick and advanced toward officers. He allegedly didn't comply with their commands, and police used a taser.
The suspect, 34-year-old Epifanio Perez of Middleton, was arrested and tentatively charged with Operating While Intoxicated (2nd offense), Operating After Revocation, two counts of Hit & Run, Failure to Report Accident to Police, Improper Right Turn and Resisting/Obstructing Officers. He was also arrested and jailed for Burglary and Disorderly Conduct.
