MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A Milwaukee man has been found guilty of killing his girlfriend's 5-year-old son.
Darrell Rogers was convicted Thursday of felony first-degree reckless homicide in the November 2013 death of Damion Davis in Milwaukee. The 25-year-old faces up to 60 years in prison.
The criminal complaint says Rogers told his girlfriend, Dedra Walker, the boy had fallen in the shower and banged his head. It says she left the two alone while she went to work and found the boy in bed when she returned. She found him dead the next morning.
An autopsy revealed contusions and lacerations on his body and severe head and abdominal injuries. The medical examiner's office ruled the death a homicide.
Rogers' sentencing hearing is scheduled for September.
