MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Scores of government officials, tribal members, industrial leaders and environmental activists are set to descend on Milwaukee for Great Lakes Week.
The event is set to begin on Monday and run through Thursday. Attendees will focus largely on projects to clean up pollution and restore habitat. The Great Lakes Commission International Joint Commission, the U.S. Areas of Concern Program, and the Council of Great Lakes Industries are among the groups scheduled to meet during the week.
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Secretary Cathy Stepp is scheduled to speak Tuesday at the Hearing Our Waters-Great Lakes Coalition conference at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center.
