According to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department, the body of a missing woman was found near the Town of Argyle on Saturday night.
County officials say Mary Scudder from Freeport, Illinois left her home Friday in a vehicle.
Lafayette deputies found her vehicle just off of Old Q Road in the Town of Argyle Saturday. After a search of the area, Scudder was found deceased about 30 feet from her car in some trees and bushes.
The initial investigation shows that exposure to the cold weather was a contributing factor to her death. An autopsy is planned and her death investigation is still underway.

According to our news partner in Rockford, Illinois, WIFR, the body of a missing woman from Freeport, Illinois has been found in Lafayette County. WIFR reports the body of 76-year-old Mary Scudder was found near her car that was parked in a driveway Saturday night around 10:15 p.m. in Blanchardville.
She had been reported missing since Friday afternoon. She left Freeport Friday afternoon around 2 p.m. to go to the bank.
According to WIFR, family members say police have not found any signs of of foul play.
Authorities in Lafayette County have not yet confirmed that a body was found.

Lafayette County authorities have not confirmed, but family members say 76-year-old Mary Scudder of Freeport, IL has been missing since 2:00 p.m. Friday.
Her car was found by authorities in Blanchardville, WI today.
He says the Argyle Fire Department has been doing a ground search, but they need your help. Call 911 or your local police with any information.
