Here is the latest Wisconsin news from The Associated Press:

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The city of Madison could save $2 million under a proposed contract with its largest municipal employees union. The Wisconsin State Journal reports that the deal was made possible after a court ruling this month put portions of the state's public employee collective bargaining law on hold. The tentative agreement between the city and AFSCME Local 60, which represents about 1,100 workers, is set to go before the union and City Council this week.

BALDWIN, Wis. (AP) -- St. Croix County authorities say sheriff's deputies shot and killed a man who fired shots at them during an incident at his home near Baldwin in western Wisconsin. Deputies were called to Patrick McDonnell's house in Eau Galle Township around 7:30 p.m. Saturday on a report he was drunk, suicidal and armed. The three deputies were not hurt.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The Milwaukee County medical examiner's office has changed its ruling in the case of a 22-year-old man who died in Milwaukee police custody last year from natural to homicide. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports the decision came after the newspaper alerted an assistant medical examiner to newly released records -- including a video of a suffocating Derek Williams pleading for help from the back of a squad car.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Wisconsin consumers are getting less likely to be charged the wrong price for merchandise at supermarkets and other retail stores. In the past five years, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports, the percentage of items that scanned incorrectly at the register has shrunk 42 percent -- from 4.8 percent to 2.8 percent.
