UPDATE: Monona Police have taken a suspect into custody for attempted bank robbery

UPDATED Thursday, March 20, 2014 --- 8:53 p.m.

Monona police tell us they have taken Darrius Jackson into custody and charged him in connection with an attempted bank robbery.

Jackson was booked into jail for attempted robbery of a financial institution, two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping, and one count of felony bail jumping.

Monona police say the crime was solved quickly thanks to the assistance of the public and the Madison Police Department.

Monona Police say that thanks to tips from the public, they have found a vehicle involved in an attempted bank robbery.

Someone tried to rob the Chase Bank on 802 W. Broadway Tuesday afternoon.

Police said Wednesday that charges are pending against a person of interest.

Monona Police say a person of interest has been found and charges are pending after an attempted robbery at a bank. Officers are still looking for a vehicle believed to be involved in the case.

Someone tried to rob the Chase Bank on 802 W. Broadway Tuesday afternoon.

Police say they found the person of interest based on tips from the public.

Officers believe the vehicle they are still looking for was being used by an accomplice in the incident.

It is an older, dark blue-colored Chevrolet Tahoe or GMC Yukon with a visor above the windshield. It also has plastic taped-over a broken front passenger window.

Monona Police have released a photo of what they believe to be the suspect's vehicle.

They're describing it as an older Tahoe or Yukon with the front passenger side window taped and some front end damage.

Police believe another man was driving the vehicle.

Monona Police are searching for a man after an attempted bank robbery Tuesday afternoon.

The man tried to rob the Chase Bank at 802 W. Broadway around 3:30 p.m.

Officers describe the suspect as a black male in his early to mid-20’s with a thin to medium build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, white rimmed sunglasses, dark jeans and red shoes.

The same man was seen at two other banks along Broadway in the same time frame.

Police believe another man driving a dark colored SUV-type vehicle with a broken passenger window is also involved in the crime.
