Sunday morning Mount Horeb police officers arrest a man for his alleged 4th OWI.
It happened around 2:40 a.m. when an officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a speeding violation on E. Business 18/151. The vehicle continued southbound on 8th Street and accelerated away from the officer. The speeds on 8th Street reached approximately 80 mph. The vehicle attempted to make a turn onto Spellman St. and instead left the roadway into a vacant lot. The vehicle then returned to 8th Street before again leaving the roadway, spinning around and coming to rest in the 600-block of 8th Street.
There the driver of the vehicle, Jason A. Sunby, 27, was taken into custody. The Mount Horeb resident failed a field sobriety test and was arrested for a Felony 4th OWI. He was also charged with Felony Eluding and Unreasonable and Imprudent Speed. He was booked into the Dane County Jail and additional citations are possible pending the results of a blood test.
