UPDATE: 3 to stand trial in Barron County homicide

UPDATED Tuesday, March 25, 2014 --- 1:57 p.m.

BARRON, Wis. (AP) -- Three people, including the victim's ex-wife, have been ordered to stand trial in a Barron County homicide.

The three were in court Monday on charges of party to first-degree intentional homicide in the death of Daniel Raven. He was shot to death in his Barron house two weeks ago. Raven's former wife, Trista Raven-Hrabak, is accused of planning the homicide beginning last November. A complaint says two of the defendants had gone to the victim's house at least six previous times with the intent to kill him, but didn't do so.

The woman's boyfriend, Ian Skjerly, of Rice Lake, and an acquaintance, Robert McBain, of Cameron, are also charged in the case. WQOW-TV (http://bit.ly/OQHWag ) says all three are due back in court next month. Defense attorney John Hinde didn't immediately respond to a phone message.

UPDATED Tuesday, March 18, 2014 --- 10:10 a.m.

BARRON, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities in northwest Wisconsin say two people accused of killing a man last week had gone to the victim's home at least six previous times with the intent to kill him.

An Eau Claire Leader-Telegram report (http://bit.ly/1kFmmR9 ) says the suspects first started plotting to kill Daniel Raven in November.

The criminal complaint says Raven was killed by 34-year-old Ian J. Skjerly of Rice Lake. He was dating Raven's ex-wife, 29-year-old Trista M. Raven-Hrabak.

They're both charged with being party to first-degree intentional homicide. So is 37-year-old Robert B. McBain, who's accused of driving the getaway car.

A message left with their public defender Tuesday was not immediately returned.

The complaint doesn't detail the previous homicide attempts. It does say Skjerly's rifle jammed on March 10, so he left, cleared his weapon, returned and fired.
