This weekend St. Mary's Hospital and Dean Clinic will unveil their latest collaboration to the public in Janesville.
Their new facility is more than 300,000 sq. ft. and according to officials it promises to offer many of the same services as their other facilities.
" We'll be expanding some services. So plastic surgery, hand clinic, out patient, mental health services will be here. Plus we're also going to be increasing the number of specialty services that we provide, " said Dean President and CEO Craig Samitt.
The clinic alone is 150,000 sq. ft. and the hospital adds another 165,000 sq. ft.
It also features 12-emergency rooms, 6-operating rooms and two trauma rooms.
For Dean the new facility meant adding about 50 jobs. But St. Mary's had to hire an entire new staff or about 350-employees.
Officials with the hospital say they got about 12,000 applications for those positions.
Kerry Swanson, the hospital's President, says the hiring started in August.
Right now there is still minor work being completed on the facility. Final touches will be made today and tomorrow.
The facilities open house this weekend. The open house hours this weekend are from 1-to-4 on both Saturday and Sunday.
The dedication will take place on the third at 1:30PM.
