Release from Columbia County Sheriff's Office:
On November 18, 2011, at 6:09 a.m., the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two vehicle crash located on STH 33, 2 miles west of STH 22 in the Town of Marcellon. This location is 5 miles north of the Village of Pardeeville.
The preliminary investigation of the crash indicates that a straight truck was traveling west on STH 33 and crossed the centerline. The straight truck collided with a service truck that is owned by Adam-Columbia Electric Cooperative. The Adam-Columbia service truck overturned. STH 33 was detoured for a short period as a result of a significant amount of debris that was scattered throughout the crash site.
The driver of the Penske Truck Leasing straight truck has been identified as MARTIN P. KOLL, 53, of Van Dyne, WI. Koll did not suffer any injuries in the crash.
The driver of the Adam-Columbia service vehicle has been identified as WILLIAM M. KEARNS, age 48, of rural Dalton, WI. Kearns did not suffer any significant injuries in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Pardeeville Fire Department, Pardeeville EMS, Blystone Towing of Portage, and the Columbia County Highway Department.
