One Person Dead After Madison Motorcycle Crash

UPDATED Wednesday, June 19, 2013 --- 11:39 p.m.

According to police, the victim in the crash is a 24 year old male from the Madison area.

Police say, the man was traveling eastbound in the 6100 block of University Avenue at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control of the motorcycle and was thrown from the bike. Police say it appears the driver struck a street sign and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The name of the man is not being released at this time.

One person is dead after a motorcycle crash on Madison's far west side, according to Madison police.

A Dane County dispatcher says it happened around 8 p.m. Wednesday night near the corner of University Avenue and Allen Boulevard.
