Update: A second person had died after crash near Waunakee

Two people reported dead after weekend crash off Highway 19 near Waunakee.

UPDATED: Monday, March 24, 2014 --- 11:30 a.m.

The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office released the names of two men killed in a single vehicle traffic crash on STH 19 near Walter Drive, in the Town of Westport. They've been identified as 28-year-old Joseph Dickenson of La Crosse, and Sebastian Creswell, 26, of Tyler, Texas.

The crash was discovered in the early morning hours on Saturday.

Toxicology reports are not yet available.

The case remains under investigation by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office and the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office.

One person is dead and another has life threatening injuries after an early morning crash off Highway 19 near Waunakee.

According to authorities, the 26-year-old driver missed a curve at Walter Drive and the car hit a mailbox and large tree before stopping in a field. The driver was flown by Medflight with life threatening injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt.

The passenger, a 28-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash is under investigation, but Dane County authorities believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
