A pedestrian was rushed to the hospital Tuesday night after being hit by a car.
It happened just before 10:00 p.m. in the 4900 block of Verona Road.
A 44-year-old Madison man tells police he was driving just past the intersection with Raymond Road when another man ran into the roadway.
The driver hit the pedestrian. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital and was initially listed in critical condition. Officers found a wallet at the scene of the crash, indicating that the pedestrian is a 45-year-old Chicago resident.
Police say the driver was very upset and distraught over the crash. There is no evidence he was impaired. No citations were issued.
