Platteville Woman Attacked By Man In Ski Mask

A Platteville woman was attacked by a man in a ski mask while walking home on Saturday night.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. Saturday night on the 52-hundred block of Classic Lane in Platteville. Police say the 49-year-old woman had left her resident to run some brief errands in town. Upon returning home she was attacked as she walked from her vehicle to her front door. Deputies were informed it was a lone assailant. He was described as a white, male, approximately 6’6” tall, wearing dark clothing and a ski mask. He was also described as having a bit of a pot belly. The unknown assailant took off on foot but deputies were not able to locate him.

During the attack the victim was struck several times in the face and did her best to fight off the assailant. Seconds after the attack started a vehicle entered the driveway to the trailer park and scared the assailant off. The victim ran into her house called 911 and waited for Deputies to arrive. The victim was later transported by private vehicle to Southwest Health Center in Platteville where she was treated for her facial injuries.
