UPDATE: Homicide Investigation in Madison

UPDATED: Saturday, September 22, 2012 --- 1:30p.m.

Release from Dane County Medical Examiner's Office:

The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office is releasing the name of a city of Madison homicide victim. The decedent was found on his bed, which was located in the garage of a residence located in the 4000 block of Maher Ave. This death investigation began shortly after 7:20p.m. on 9-19-2012.

A forensic autopsy completed on 9-20-2012 disclosed injuries inconsistent with initial information obtained at the scene from witnesses who discovered the decedent.

He's identified as Bruce G. Engendorf, 54, Madison, WI

Preliminary autopsy results indicate Mr. Engendorf's death was the result of blunt force trauma of the head. Additional testing is underway in reference to this death investigation.

Release from Madison Police Department:

Arrested:
David A. Tingom, age 62, Madison
Mr. Tingom was arrested for 2nd Degree Reckless Homicide.

This evening, the MPD arrested Mr. David A. Tingom, age 62, Madison, on a tentative charge of 2nd Degree Reckless Homicide.

Mr. Tingom was a roommate of the the victim, and information was developed that he and the victim had a physical altercation in the driveway of their home on Wednesday morning, September 19th.

The victim fell and hit his head during the altercation. A short time later the victim went to his bed to sleep. He was found deceased early Wednesday evening.

The Dane County Medical Examiner will release the cause of death and the name of the victim.

The Madison Police Department is investigating the death of a 54-year old man. He was found in his bed, inside a garage, where he lived in the 4000 block of Maher Ave. around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday night. An autopsy revealed the man had a head injury. It is not known, at this time, how that was sustained.
