UPDATE: Police release the names of suspects in domestic incident

UPDATED Wednesday, April 30, 2014 --- 11:22 p.m.

Beloit Police tell us a domestic disturbance that lead to the Beloit SWAT team being called to a residence on the 700 block of Oak Street in Beloit actually began on Tuesday around 9:30 a.m.

Around that time Beloit Patrol Officers were sent to an address on the 700 block of Oak Street regarding a domestic disturbance. The investigation resulted in a suspect being identified as 20-year-old Laquann Kendall of Beloit. He had fled the residence prior to law enforcement arriving.

Then around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday an officer from the Beloit Drug and Gang unit observed Kendall driving a vehicle in the area St. Lawrence and 8th Street.

Prior to a traffic stop attempt, the vehicle pulled over in the area of Vine and Roosevelt. Kendall and other man fled from the vehicle on foot.

Witnesses in the area told Police both suspects had enter the same building on Oak Street as from the day before.

The Beloit Police Department's SWAT team responded to assist. Both Kendall and 28-year-old Ronald Hicks were taken into custody without incident.

The investigation is ongoing.

Beloit Police say the situation is stable and two people are in custody on the 700 block of Oak street. Police are asking people to continue to stay away from the area.
