UPDATE: Man charged in fatal fight outside Wausau bar

UPDATE: A Wausau man is being held on $1 million bond in a fatal shooting outside a local bar.

UPDATED Wednesday, March 12, 2014 --- 9:32 a.m.

WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) -- A Wausau man is being held on $1 million bond in a fatal shooting outside a local bar.

Thirty-year-old John Lewis is charged with 25 felonies, including first-degree intentional homicide in the death of KC Christopher Elliott. The 27-year-old victim was shot in the stomach outside Sidetracked Bar in Wausau Jan. 3 and died following surgery at Aspirus Hospital.

A criminal complaint says Lewis and Elliott were drinking and shooting pool and eventually argued and physically fought outside the bar. WAOW-TV reports a witness told police Lewis retrieved a gun from his car and shot Elliott.

Lewis is also charged with possessing heroin and 14 counts of bail jumping. Online court records do not list an attorney for Lewis.

WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) -- Police say a man shot outside a Wausau bar has died and a suspect is in custody.

Authorities say the shooting happened about 1:30 a.m. Friday outside the Sidetracked bar. The suspect and victim knew each other and were fighting in the parking lot when the shot was fired.

Police say a 27-year-old man was shot in the stomach and the suspect fled. The victim was rushed to Wausau Aspirus Hospital where he had surgery, but police were told at about 6 p.m. that the man had died of his wound.

The body will be taken to the State Crime Lab in Madison and an autopsy conducted.

WAOW-TV (http://bit.ly/1dsXCsL ) says the 30-year-old suspect was arrested without incident and taken to jail. Police are still trying to find the gun.

Officers are searching several locations for the suspect.
