Public Asked for Thoughts on State Rules

Posted Monday, January 21, 2013 --- 2:30 p.m.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The public is being asked for their thoughts on which state rules and regulations need to be tossed aside or refined.

Republican state Rep. Dan LeMahieu of Cascade announced the effort on Monday. He is leading the state Assembly's review of state rules, which is also a priority of Gov. Scott Walker this year.

LeMahieu says all 1,768 chapters of the state's administrative code are being reviewed. That code consists of rules used by state agencies to enforce laws passed by the Legislature.

Walker has called for a review of any rules or regulations that make it harder to do business in the state. A task force he created last week released a report identifying hundreds of possible changes, now LeMahieu is asking for public feedback.

Labor laws are the worst. Many will not allow for entry level jobs. I would like to participate in any surveys.
