Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin will be addressing the Democratic National Convention tonight during prime time.
That could offer her the chance to raise her profile and make her case against opponent Tommy Thompson.
Thompson is leading Baldwin in the latest polls and overall Wisconsin appears to be much tighter in the presidential race than four years ago, when Obama won the state by 14 points.
As for what she'll be speaking about tonight, she'll be addressing the crowd before President Obama takes the stage.
NBC15 spoke with her this morning, and she says she'll be giving folks a snapshot of the Wisconsin she knows. "The Wisconsin that embraces the value of fairness, the idea that if you work hard and play by the rules you ought to get ahead," said Rep. Baldwin. "But that requires that the rules be fair and not written to advantage the very most powerful. And so I'm going to be touching on themes relating to the Wisconsin I know."
Congresswoman Baldwin says she's offering her Wisconsin thoughts; this comes after Governor Scott Walker and Congressman Paul Ryan addressed the Republican National Convention last week.
