If your after work commute takes you down Fish Hatchery Road you can probably expect some delays because traffic has shifted. Expect those to hit once you get near Petra Street.
This afternoon construction crews combined the northbound lanes with the southbound lanes. Crews made the move so they can lift the bridge that crosses the beltline by about 10 inches. Officials say they have not had any major incidents with trucks hitting the bridge but they have had some near misses.
Curt Neuhauser with the DOT says, " Right now it's right at our minimum standards. While it's never been hit like the Seminole Highway bridge it's been scraped a few times and it's gotten very close to being hit in a bad way. "
This is just the latest work to be done on Fish Hatch. You may recall in the spring of 2012 the county started work on a stretch of Fish Hatch from Wingra Drive to Emil Street. That project wrapped up last summer.
