From the Rock County Sheriff's Department:
On 01-20-12 at 6:04AM, Deputies from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office and Green County along with Fire and EMS from Brooklyn responded to a single vehicle rollover at N. STH 104 and W. Emery Rd. in Union township. STH 104 was shut down from 6:10AM until 7:00AM due to power lines crossing the road.
Investigation of the crash revealed, a brown 2001 Mercury Sable driven by Londa L. Moldenhauer 49 of Brodhead, was traveling southbound on STH 104 approaching the T-intersection with W. Emery Rd. The vehicle entered the west ditch of 104 and as Londa attempted to re-enter the roadway the vehicle came out of the ditch sideways and slid into a telephone pole snapping it in two, at the intersection of 104 and W. Emery Rd. Londa was trapped upside down in the vehicle due to power lines resting on top of it. Londa was finally able to crawl out where she was treated by EMS for minor injuries.
At the time of this press release the accident was still under investigation and no citations had been issued. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor, however speed is believed to be a contributing cause.
