RACINE, Wis. (AP) -- Consumer products giant SC Johnson is increasing the number of jobs cuts planned for the Racine area.
The Journal Times reports the estimated number of job cuts is now up to around 300 and possibly as high as 400.
In October, the maker of Pledge and Windex announced plans to cut 100 to 200 jobs in southeastern Wisconsin as it restructures and reduces its global workforce.
Chairman and CEO Fisk Johnson told employees of the revised job cuts Friday at company headquarters in Racine.
Company spokeswoman Jam Stewart says the cuts include "voluntary and involuntary" position cuts. She says some positions to be cut are now open.
Stewart says some of the first cuts will be announced to employees Tuesday.
SC Johnson employs about 3,500 in the Racine area.
