From the Sauk County Sheriff's Office:
On March 2, 2013 at approximately 4:50pm the Sauk County Communications Center was notified of a ski accident at Devils Head Ski Resort in the Town of Merrimac. Devils Head Ski Patrol was on scene and providing care to the victim. Sauk Prairie Ambulance was sent to the scene.
It was reported that Jonathan S. Headberg, age 30, of Madison, WI, was skiing down a hill when he lost control and struck a tree. Headberg was transported from the scene to UW Hospital in Madison by Sauk Prairie Ambulance. Headberg was pronounced dead at UW Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in this accident. It is unknown if Headberg was wearing a helmet.
