Stranger Danger: Suspicious Man Seen Trying to Talk to Grade School Students

Incident Type: Suspicious Person

Incident Date: 02/11/2013 - 2:12 PM

Address: Meadowlark Dr. near Milwaukee St.

Details: A concerned citizen contacted the MPD Monday afternoon after seeing a driver possibly trying to make contact with grade school age girls as they were walking home from Kennedy Elementary School along Meadowlark Dr. around 2:00 p.m.

The caller described a white male, in his early 20's, wearing a black hooded jacket, with the hood up, driving a dark, 4-door, SUV. The license plate started with 957. The MPD is continuing to investigate and the principal at Kennedy Elementary is sending a letter home to parents.

    This was a misunderstanding, and has been cleared up with the school and police. The man stopped to pick up HIS OWN three daughters, but they wanted to walk the rest of the way home, so he pulled away and went home to wait for them.
