Child Enticement Investigation
Madison, WI. February 6, 2012 – The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible case of child enticement that occurred this morning on the 6400 block of Nesbitt Road in the town of Verona.
At approximately 9:35 am, a 12-year-old female was walking to her bus stop on Nesbitt Road, toward Cortina Drive, when a four-door white SUV drove past her. The SUV then made a U-turn and came back toward the girl. The driver of the SUV is described as a white male in his 50’s, with white hair. He was wearing a green and gold Packer jacket and a green “elf-like” winter hat. His appearance was also described as “scruffy.”
The man approached the girl in his vehicle, rolled down the passenger side window and asked if she wanted a ride. He then became more verbally aggressive and ordered her into the vehicle. At about the same time, the girl’s school bus was arriving at her stop and she was able to run safely to the bus.
Sheriff’s Office investigators are asking for anyone who may have information on the incident or the suspect to call the tip line at (608) 284-6900.
