Madison, Wisconsin – On March 15, 2013 at 1:28 AM, a patrol Sergeant for the UW Madison Police Department observed a vehicle traveling on Langdon St without headlights on. The Sergeant stopped the vehicle and made contact with the occupants. The driver, Karl Moreth, 26 from Sun Prairie, said he did not realize his lights were not on. During the contact, one of the passengers in the vehicle vomited on himself and another passenger urinated on himself. All three of the passengers in the vehicle were intoxicated and had previous convictions for O.M.V.W.I.
Moreth performed field sobriety test and the Sergeant determined that he was Operating while Under the Influence. Moreth was arrested and booked into the Dane County Jail for O.M.V.W.I. 5th Offense, Operating After Revocation, and Operating without Proper Lights.
Moreth's vehicle was removed from the scene by a valid licensed and sober driver.
