MADISON, Wis. (AP) --Republican Governor Scott Walker will host a summit for small business owners in November. Walker says the goal is to improve the relationship small businesses have with the state government. The first small business summit was held last year in Green Bay. This year's will be November 8th in La Crosse.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Vice presidential hopeful Paul Ryan has rallied the Republican faithful at a fundraiser in his home state of Wisconsin. Ryan appeared at a fundraiser in Milwaukee yesterday evening. He told donors in a 15-minute speech that President Barack Obama is driving the country deeper into debt.

WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) -- An 18-year-old man carrying a loaded handgun has been arrested after a threat that locked down a central Wisconsin school. Wausau West High School went on a lockdown Friday for about an hour after a female student received a threatening text message from the 18-year-old, who was not a student at the school. The man, from Rothschild, was arrested on tentative charges of threats to injure and misdemeanor charges of carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Cheese lovers sampled 40-year-old cheddar cheese and loved it yesterday in Milwaukee. Store owner Ken McNulty bought 10 pounds from Z's Cheese Shoppe in Oconto. The owner, Edward Zahn, found it in a walk-in cooler this spring. He says it had been overlooked unintentionally for years.
