Helping women in need in our own community. One local moving company is making it their mission, by getting area businesses and schools involved. It's the seventh year the Movers for Moms Campaign has been collecting household items for area mother's in need, and this year some future leaders are helping out with the effort.
"It feels really awesome to be able to be a part of donating to people who aren't so lucky on Mother's Day," said sixth grader Ada Hazen. Ada and her friends at Madison Country Day School have been busy making posters and spreading the word to the whole school. She added, "anything from bath towels, bay formula to diapers."
They're helping collect items for women at DAIS, a shelter for domestic violence survivors and their families. The effort, being fronted by Two Men And A Truck. "Our company was started by a mom, and so we look for opportunities like this whenever we can," said marketing director, Sheri Rice.
And the whole community is joining the effort; helping spread cheer on Mother's Day for moms who may need it most. "My favorite part is just the feeling that it gives you about being so helpful to all the mothers," said Ada.
