UPDATE: Man, 27, arrested in Wisconsin apartment fire

UPDATED Thursday, May 7, 2014 --- 2:03 p.m.

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) -- Police have arrested a 27-year-old Fond du Lac man in a suspected arson at an apartment complex last week.

The man was arrested Wednesday. He's in jail on preliminary charges of arson, burglary and criminal damage to property.

No one was hurt in the fire last Friday. But residents in four units were forced from their homes at the Home Town Harbor apartment complex.

WLUK-TV (http://bit.ly/1m2FGt1 ) reports investigators say the suspect had argued with a tenant before the fire.

Police say the fire caused substantial damage to the apartment complex.

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) -- Tenants at a Fond du Lac apartment complex escaped to safety after fire broke out on the second floor of a building.

The fire at the Hometown Harbor apartments started about 3 a.m. Friday. Officials said the north end of the apartment complex is a total loss.

No one has been injured.
