Madison Police say thieves made off with two wedding bands from Burnie's Rock Shop last weekend.
The crime happened Sunday at the 901 E. Johnson St. business.
An employee said a man tried to cover the crime by replacing more expensive jewelry with two cheaper rings he had brought into the store.
The employee was helping the man's female accomplice look at other items when the man made the swap. The victim later realized that was an orchestrated distraction. She did not realized the two rings, valued at $1,750, were gone until the couple left the store.
Police describe the suspects as:
Male, black, 5'7", bald, wearing a white and dark blue checkered shirt and longer dark shorts.
Female, black or Hispanic, light complexion, 5'3", wearing a red shirt with a flower pattern and denim capri pants.
