Fall is officially here and for many, that means getting outside and enjoying the crisp autumn air. A great way to do that is to check out one of the many corn mazes in our area. But one corn maze in particular has a new way to get participants from start to finish!

This is the impossible maze.

“OK, let's head inside!” said NBC 15's Tim Elliott.

As Tim found out first hand, this maze lives up to it's name.

“Oh man, I'm so lost, what am I going to do?

“Tim, why don't you just use the GPS?” asked Scott Skelly.

“Oh, thanks Scott! On my way!”

Thanks to Scott at Skelly farms market outside of Janesville, Tim is finally on the right path.

“Hang a left here and I have a feeling we are coming up on checkpoint one. There it is!”

Scott shows Tim how he's developed a better way to navigate the maze using technology. Customers can now use the global positioning system better known as GPS to find their way.

“And they can load up that maze and see a map of the maze and see pretty much precisely where they are in the maze as they are walking through,” said Scott.

Using Google Earth, you can see exactly where you are in the maze.

“It's accurate to within about 3 inches,” said Scott. “It's gonna be red or blue lines on you phone and there are little markers where every checkpoint is and there's a blue dot that let's you know where you are,”

“Checkpoint number one! We survived so now we can scan the code here and what does that do?” asks Tim.

You scan this QR code at each checkpoint. Your phone will then keep track of your progress

“This is really good cause I'm really terrible at directions,” Tim admitted. “OK I'll take a right here,” Tim said unsure.

GPS may give you a leg up, but finding your way out is all on you.

“Well even though you have the GPS system you still need to be able to tell where you are going it's not going to give you turn by turn directions here.

“Who hoo, success!” Tim shouts as he exits the maze. “Thank you technology!”
