Traffic Stop in Madison Leads to Two Arrests & Search for Runaway Passenger

Arrested Courtney C. Sykes 25 YOA Charges: Eluding, Reckless Driving
Travis Smith 25 YOA Charges: Parole Hold
Officers from the West District Community Police Team attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Sykes for a traffic violation. Rather than stop, he accelerated and started driving in the curb area around other vehicles. He eventually pulled into the Williamsburg area by a dead end. A passenger in Sykes's vehicle exited immediately and started running from area. A handgun was later located in the area of the vehicle where this passenger was seated. Sykes and Smith remained at the scene and were taken into custody. The other passenger was not located at this time.
