Tuesday Snow Plow Update from the City of Madison

Posted Tuesday, December 18, 2012 --- 11:05 a.m.

Press Release from the City of Madison:

by Chris Kelley, Streets Superintendent
posted December 18, 2012 10:22 AM

The Streets Division has applied salt brine to our main arterials today. We are currently getting ready to deploy 32 trucks on our salt routes as snow has started to fall in portions of the City. We anticipate keeping crews on the salt routes through the evening rush hour at which time we will evaluate the need to have staff stay into the evening.

In addition to attacking today's snowfall, we are fully prepared for the storm that is predicted to hit Madison on Wednesday and Thursday. We have ample supplies of brine, salt, and sand. In addition, all of our trucks are ready for plowing operations should the storm act as predicted.

We plan to conduct regular refuse, large item and recycling operations on Thursday.
