MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Hunters can start buying leftover Wisconsin spring turkey permits later this month.
The state Department of Natural Resources made 234,130 permits available. More than half were awarded through a lottery, leaving about 100,000 for over-the-counter sales.
Permits for Zone 1 will go on sale March 18, Zone 2 on March 19, Zone 3 on March 20 and Zone 4 on March 21. Permits for Zones 5, 6 and 7 will go on sale March 22.
The permits are $10 for residents, $15 for non-residents and $5 for hunters who are 10 or 11 years old. They'll be available through the DNR's website, authorized agents and at DNR service centers.
