It was a different kind of Thanksgiving celebration for some area animals.
These turkeys were the guests of honor at the Heartland Farm Sanctuary in Verona.
The shelter's rescued turkeys and other birds feasted on a buffet of squash, pumpkin pie, cranberries, and stuffing.
At this dinner table, everyone got to dig in!
"The turkeys insisted on sharing with everybody. The pigs got a whole bunch of it, and our goats and sheep got to partake. You can tell by the pumpkin that they have on their face," says Sarah Solberg from the
Heartland Farm Sanctuary.
The Heartland Farm Sanctuary is a a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping homeless farm animals in the state, and building connections between animals and vulnerable youth.
